Ashley’s electrical in Norfolk were called out to a three bedroom cottage in Ashwellthorpe for a storage heater fault. Whilst onsite the customers told us how poorly the storage heaters worked in their house maintaining the temperature during the evenings. They had to run an open fire during the winter top up the heating.
Richard’s team looked at the existing installation and found there were over 24kW of storage heaters installed, they were correctly installed and set for winter heating, but sufficient heat was not produced.
We designed a new electric heating layout for the customers using 9.5kW of Cali Sense eco-design programmable electric radiators fitted to the existing storage heater supply points.
These heaters are Eco Design Lot 20 compliant with presence & open window detection, Eco Design electronic thermostat controls with an operating electronic thermostat accurate to +/- 0.1˚C to maintain constant temperature levels.
The old inefficient storage heaters were taken out and replaced with the Cali Eco Sense heaters in one day, we asked the customers what their daily routine was and how they used the various rooms in their house.
All of the electric heaters were then programmed to fit into 10 Heating Zones, their lifestyle, full training was given to the customers so they could make any future changes to comfort and background eco temperature levels or programming times.
Richard Ashley received a text message the next day saying how much warmer and more comfortable the cottage felt.
