Created in the sixties the storage heaters waste Electricity to the units is restricted to off-peak hours. When ‘on’, electricity heats the elements at 500 degrees, which in turn heat the bricks at 220 degrees Eventually to heats the room at 20 degrees. In real terms takes energy at night time and first thing in the morning it’s at it’s hottest, you go to work and your cat, dog, and Golden Fish are warm but as the day progresses the bricks become cooler and hence the heat output decreases, by 14-00 the house is at 14 degrees, there is no doubt most of the heat and your money has been wasted.
There is a distinct lack of control and programming ability and having to try and predict the next day’s weather is a nightmare even for the professionals!
