Planning your new electric heating

Firstly, we need to determine the reasons for replacing an existing inefficient heating system. Often, it’s due to shortfalls in energy efficiency, controllability and effective heating, or simply a necessity to replace an older system no longer working.  Then, based on landlord and tenant requirements, we need to establish the most suitable control and programming system. Once all the necessary requirements are met, on receipt of floor plans or property dimensions we will provide you with a comprehensive heating plan and quotation. Throughout this stage we will also be on hand to consult and to provide your estate management, tenant liaison officers and contractors with all the necessary informative and technical literature, as well as advice and guidance.

Preparation before installation of your new heating

One the information required is received, we will provide a bespoke heating requirement calculation plan, advisory literature for your tenants and supply you with full product and installation instructions together with all technical information to ensure that everyone in your organisation involved in the project is fully prepared for the changeover. Should the project require supply only, we do offer an optional package which includes a comprehensive installation training for your contractors, liaise with tenants and associated management, maintenance staff and tenant liaison officers to provide confidence in the installation of our products.

You will be offered full training on how to fully understand the heating system and how to operate it. How to achieve the highest energy efficiency results, as well as troubleshooting any issues you may encounter. Our objective is to provide your organisation with all the necessary expertise to ensure full tenant satisfaction and the confidence to undertake further installations with the necessary knowledge. For peace of mind, many customers do prefer our approved contractors to undertake the installations. The advantage of this option, is the commissioning of the system for which all our contractors are trained for, resulting in extensive knowledge and advice on any systems they install. We believe that our role does not end once the system has been installed, therefore we will liaise with you to evaluate the system’s performance, assist with troubleshooting and to address any issues of concern. Right from the start, to ensure your tenants’ satisfaction, we aim to provide your organisation with trouble free, comfortable, energy efficient heating in line with today’s needs.

In some cases tenants will have become accustomed to their current heating system, therefore, the introduction of a new system needs to be carefully organised to ensure a smooth changeover. This includes ensuring that all tenants, your personnel and contractors have a full understanding of the new system and know what to expect and prepare for prior, during and after the installation.

Room-by-Room Efficiency

Many electric heating systems feature separate heaters in each room, unlike central boilers used in gas or oil heating systems. This setup allows for flexible and efficient heating tailored to individual spaces or zones. Electric radiators are popular types of direct electric heating, and can be more cost-effective when paired with solar energy generation and a battery storage system. Intelli Heat and Renewable, Solar Panels accredited MCS specialists have announced an enhanced collaboration aimed at transforming the landscape of renewable heating technologies. This strategic collaboration is set to offer a comprehensive package designed explicitly for installers retrofitting properties with sustainable, energy-efficient systems, these heaters can efficiently warm individual rooms or supplement your main central heating system.

Efficient Heat Transfer

Electric radiators contain elements that heat up and transfer warmth into the room. The heat is either radiated directly or used to warm the air, which then circulates. The radiator bodies are made from aluminium highly conductive material, ensure efficient heat transfer. ensure efficiency and better heat transfer than steel. The energy efficient performance of our radiators is guaranteed by a combination of thermos efficient design and the latest ACS technologies. This includes each radiator being fitted with an intelligent thermostat which precisely regulates energy consumption by only drawing lesser periodic amounts of energy once a room or zone has reached the set temperature. Another major factor to further reduce running costs is programming and zone control, ,  now a compulsory aspect of the latest Eco Design Legislations. In order to achieve comfortable, effective and fully controllable low-cost heating, we will make sure your tenants and support personnel fully understand how to achieve the maximum efficiency through programming and controllability.

Modern energy saving Features for Enhanced Control

Since January 2018 ECODESIGN LOT 20, new electric heaters, to be compliant with the new legislations, are required to have certain features, life thermostats, 24-hour and seven-day programmable timers, temperature controls, and open window detection as a minimum. Some models also include smart heating controls for added convenience. Be sure to check for these features, as older models without them can still be sold but would be compliant.
