Paris COP21 Electric Heating Will Replace Fossil Fuels

COP21” held in Paris last week stands for “Conference of the Parties 21,” and was the UN Conference on Climate Change issues. It resulted in a landslide decision committing all countries to cut emissions and followed two weeks of negotiations.

UK Energy Secretary Amber Rudd says: “The UK is “absolutely committed” to the Paris climate deal and will be “making sure we deliver on it.”

Friends of the Earth chief executive Craig Bennett said “This clearly shows that fossil fuels have had their day and that George Osborne’s outdated, backward energy policies must be reversed if he wants to be on the right side of history.”

The agreement aims to limit the rise in global temperatures to less than 2C, and was approved by 195 countries present. David Cameron says it represents “a huge step forward in securing the future of the planet”.

All the 195 countries have agreed to bring forward proposals for their own country, and to work with civil society, NGOs and businesses achieve them. Ms. Rudd stated that the UK would be the first developed country to put an end date on its use of coal, and would expand offshore wind provision.

Meaningful Action

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the deal is a “big step forward”, but it is important to back it up with meaningful action.

Labour’s shadow energy minister Barry Gardiner said this would be the start of a “new industrial revolution”, across the UK which is clean and green, and the world is waking up to the fact that we have to do things differently.” he said.

Electric Heating Will Replace Fossil Fuels

Electric Radiators are a renewable energy source, and use up to 30% less energy than the old ‘wet’ fossil fuel systems, as well as removing all maintenance costs and gas safety checks. Most of Europe has already abandoned old fashioned gas heating and the UK is now rushing to catch up.

This is why Intelli Heat is currently looking for good NICEIC Electrical Contractors across the UK, to take on some installation work for top commissions. We provide full training, completely free, but we are looking for qualified and accredited contractors to do this work.
