So How Does Electric Central Heating Actually Work?

All our electric radiators provide responsive and efficient heating using three key components which work together to ensure extremely high levels of energy efficiency, making them truely unique.

1 Each radiator is fitted with a high quality tungsten element that absorbs energy quickly and heats up quickly, it retains the energy but releases it slowly, thus once heated it uses minimal power to maintain the correct temperature required to heat the theromdynamic fluid.

2 Each radiator is filled with a thermodynamic fluid and our exclusive Advanced Condensing System which is specifically formulated to heat up rapidly and to expand to the entire heat exchange area within the radiator resulting in maximum outer surface hot point effect.

The thermodynamic fluid also has high heat retaining properties allowing the absorbed energy to be used to maintain the thermodynamic fluid’s required temperature for the maximium period of time, therefore requiring minimal power to reheat.The Advanced Condensing System allows NEEDO radiators to recover, through evaporation, energy produced, effectively using heat twice and making the system more efficient.

3 Each radiator is fitted with an intelligent thermostat. This thermostat not only guages and controls the temperature but it also regulates the exact amount of power needed to maintain the temperature, and therefore ensures that only the exact amount power is drawn to maintain the required temperature.

When activated, the radiator will draw full power until the required temperature as set by the thermostat is achieved, this is normally within 10 minutes. At that point the radiator will cease to draw power, the thermodynamic fluid will have rapidly expanded and the radiator will have 100% surface hot point effect. Due to the tungsten element’s slow release of energy and the thermodynamic fluid’s heat retaining qualities, the radiator will continue to emit heat using minimal power to maintan the required temperature.

How Electric Radiators Work

Intelli Heat radiators use a tungsten element immersed in a thermodynamic heat retaining fluid that promotes optimum circulation. It quickly diffuses heat on the entire exchange surface of the radiator creating a permanent “hot point” effect which achieves high levels of efficiency and economy. INTELLI HEAT is healthy and comfortable. Compared with the traditional way of heating, air drying is minimal, as well as the temperature difference between ceiling and floor. When operational, our electric radiators will draw full power until the required temperature (set on the thermostat) is achieved. This is normally within 15 minutes. At this point, the radiator will cease drawing power; the Thermo-Dynamic fluid will have rapidly expanded and the radiator will now have 100% hot point effect. Due to the elements slow release of power and the fluid’s heat retention qualities, the radiator will continue emitting heat. For example, if a 1000w radiator has dropped below the desired temperature and the radiator has sensed that only 250w are required to return it to the desired level, then the radiator only draws 250w and not 1000w.
