Save Money With Economy 10 Electricity Tariff
Our Economy 10 tariff is designed primarily to work in conjunction with a fluid-based electric radiator system (as opposed to the dry bricks used in storage heaters) or with an Air or Ground Source heating system. Although it is possible to fit this type of meter for other electric heating systems we do not recommend this as there may be other tariffs better suited and certainly not without the customer taking advice from a qualified heating engineer or electrician, as there may be some additional work required to ensure full compatibility; the cost of which may have to be met by the customer.
The primary advantage of this tariff, as noted in the PDF document below, is that during the Off-peak hours all the electricity usage is charged at the Low rate. As many appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers are equipped with programmable timers this means that even the early period can provide a saving over and above that derived from a cheaper rate for any appliances running in the background, such as fridge-freezers.
The unit prices listed below are current and correct as of 30/03/09. I should inform you that we do not currently offer a ‘Nil Service Charge’ option on this tariff.

Following a successful registration we would need a current or recent reading from the meter, which would be used to open your account with souther electric and to close your account with the previous supplier to the property. This would be the reading to which their final bill would be calculated so it is always best to keep a note of the figure for your own reference.
